Welcome,

The very first thing we’ll ask of you is simple: relax. You’re with friends. Even if you’ve never been in church before, you’ll have no worries about being flagged as a “newbie.” Or finding yourself “volunteered” to make seven dozen cookies for the first grade class.

What you will find is this:

  • a casual atmosphere
  • friendly people who’ll help you find your way around
  • today’s music , powerful dramas , high-impact media presentations
  • messages relevant to your daily life
  • an wonderful children’s space in our children's church and nursery
  • that you matter to God – and to TBCC
  • a Starbuck®-esque café where you can relax, recharge and relate in your comfort zone, with a coffee in your hand
  • Saturday Night Extras , including more music, more food, café tables and a Wi-Fi zone to soothe your inner geek

Whether you’re single, married, single again, with or without children – no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done – we invite you to experience the difference here.

What should I expect at The Bridge

You are welcome just as you are! There is certainly no dress code - come however you feel comfortable. We seek to teach a message that will connect  with people's lives, explore the ageless wisdom of Scripture, and present it in a creative, yet straightforward way.

The Bridge is designed to encourage people along their spiritual journey in a safe, comfortable environment. We will often examine the claims of Christianity and explore what it means to enter into a life-changing relationship with Jesus.

The worship celebration employs multiple creative elements that communicate God's heart for us all.  The teaching then takes us further... exploring biblical truths in engaging, relevant ways. Thought-provoking illustrations and real-life applications lay the groundwork for a rich time of spiritual introspection and personal growth.

Before and after the service, we enjoy coffee, refreshments and opportunities to connect with others. Come begin or continue your spiritual quest at your own pace in the company of friends! Growing closer to the perfect God in an imperfect authentic community is what The Bridge is all about.

What are our basic theological beliefs?

The Bridge Community Church holds to an orthodox historical Christian faith, as reflected in these basic statements of our beliefs.

About the Bible We believe that the Bible is fully inspired by God, that it is entirely trustworthy and is our guide for faith and life.

About God We believe that God is the loving Creator of all that exists, both seen and unseen. God is eternal and completely good, knowing all things, having all power and majesty. God exists eternally as the Trinity, in three persons, yet one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

About Jesus We believe that God expressed Himself in human form through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of all. Jesus was born of the virgin Mary and lived a sinless life. We believe He was crucified for the sins of us all, rose again from the dead and ascended to heaven.

About the Holy Spirit We believe that the Holy Spirit, sent from God to live in all who believe in Jesus, teaches, comforts, and empowers us, giving each follower of Jesus diverse gifts for serving in the church and serving others in the world. We believe that it is through the Holy Spirit that we change and develop a holy life and Jesus-like character.

About Salvation We believe that all people are created with dignity and great value in the image of God. That people were created to live in a thriving relationship with God. However, through our sin (failing to live by God’s moral standards), we break our intended relationship with God and we experience the sad consequences of that broken relationship, both spiritually and socially.

However, because of God’s love for us, He sent His Son, Jesus, to rescue us from those consequences and to restore our broken relationship with God, through Jesus´ death on the cross, a perfect act of redemption for each of us. We receive the free gift of forgiveness and are spiritually reborn through repenting (changing our mind and heart) of our sin and placing faith in Jesus alone.

About the Church We believe that the church is comprised of any person, anywhere in the world who puts faith in Jesus. The church itself is people who are empowered by God’s Spirit to be part of the mission of Jesus here on earth. The church is one global community, but has smaller, local expressions, such as The Bridge Community Church. Each local church expression has a unique personality and we see beauty in that diversity. We believe that the church does not exist for itself, but exists as a community of worshipers who are here to serve others, as we bring the love and hope of Jesus to the world around us.

About the Afterlife and End Times We do believe there are a literal heaven and hell and that one day Jesus will return, although we approach the topics of the afterlife and end times with great mystery and wonder.

To that end ....

As a community of followers of Jesus we exist to know Him more intimately, love Him more deeply, so that we may live the way of Christ.

God’s vision for the Bridge is to be a community alive with followers of Jesus;

·        Who are seeking healing and wholeness in Christ

·        What are passionate about loving God and loving others

·        Who are humbly sharing the “Good News” of Jesus with all people

·        Who are committed to gathering to encourage one another

·        And who are selfless givers toward God’s work on earth

So that, what we see in Christ, is what we become in Christ…

Because of this vision…

  • Those who are part of the church are taught how to be serious disciples of Jesus, as we represent Him to those around us (2 Corinthians 5:20). Making "disciples" (as Jesus called it in Matthew 28:19) will be the primary ultimate goal of this church.
  • Those in the church are taught how to be serious students of the Scriptures, not content with knowing the Bible only at a surface or shallow level, but desiring to have a deep understanding of the entire Bible. Church leadership is committed to seeing that Scripture is taught deeply and a goal will be seeing those in this church becoming "self-feeders" of the Scriptures (Hebrews 5:11-14).

  • Those who are part of this church serve each other so that we experience true community (Acts 2:42-47; John 13:34-35). We are passionate about helping people discover that they are a very valuable part of the "body of Christ" (the church- 1 Corinthians 12:27).

  • The "family" is highly valued, taught about and supported with various developing ministries (marriage, family, children etc.), as the family is critical in the shaping of our society and culture (Matthew 19:4-6, Deuteronomy 6:4-9).

  • Those in the church have hearts that break for those who have not yet experienced the love and grace of God and joy of knowing and following Jesus (2 Peter 3:9). We will try to see people and love people as Jesus did (Matthew 9:35-38).

  • Those in the church have a heart for being involved in our local community and in activities that express the love of God outside of our internal church events.
  • This church does not measure success by attendance, professionalism or production, but instead measures what we do by how we constantly seek to increase the degree of our love for God and for people (Matthew 22:37-39).

  • At The Bridge Community Church, the "church" will not be something you go to, but something you are
